Exim's configuration is infinitely flexible... it can do just about 
anything. I began with just Squirrelmail and Dovecot, and was using 
htpasswd for that; then I added SMTP AUTH to Exim and carried on using 
the same htpasswd file. Having 3 services I didn't want to have to 
change them all when adding pysieved to the mix - hence the htpasswd 
patch!
