We’ll go through the designated set as slowly as necessary so that everyone can join in. Maybe we gradually get faster. We’ll go through it at least twice; then we’ll chat, and start again with another set. From time to time, somebody brings snacks!

This session is focused on the social aspect of the musical tradition. It’s expected you’re going to lose the tune and have to hop back in later. Sometimes everybody loses the tune at the same time: that’s cause for a good laugh.

If you’re just dipping your toe into Irish traditional music, this is the session for you. If you’ve been playing a while and are picking up a second instrument, or you want to focus on ornamentation or variations, please come. If you’re a dancer, you are very welcome: we will roll out the marley for you. Bring patience and kindness, and you will have a good time!
